Registration

The exam schedule is accessible on the internet, and students are advised to consult it. It is important to keep in mind that the final schedule of exams may change at any time. For this reason, students should consult with their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their test. Students should also print the official list to take with them to their exam.

Students should also be familiar with the guidelines and conditions of the exam, in addition to the schedule. These can be found on the page for each exam. When they register, students agree that they have read and agree to these conditions and terms.

Exam locations will do their best to accommodate those who have special needs. The nature and severity of these requirements should be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The exam locations must also respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled for the same day it is recommended to contact their department or instructor to arrange an exam to make up. It is possible to take three examinations on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and affect the quality. Additionally, the instructor may not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Students must review their course materials prior to taking the exam and must practice their German skills. The exam is a test on paper that measures the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The test results are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has reached the level of language A1. This level corresponds to the first level of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students must bring an ID that is valid for government purposes to the examination. Students who do not have a valid picture identification will be disqualified.
